Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Following the insightful remarks from the Chairman and the Director, I warmly welcome you to the Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute, Abeokuta — a center destined to be “Primus inter pares” (first among equals) in leadership training.
To gain a holistic understanding of leadership and recognize exemplary leaders, participants must be well-versed in leadership concepts, theories, styles, types of leaders, attributes of effective leadership, and the challenges that arise from leadership inadequacies.
Participants will discover that a good leader is someone who inspires trust, earns respect, and motivates those they lead by communicating a clear vision in an understandable manner. A leader is a visionary and a realistic dreamer, one who learns from all situations, reads widely, listens patiently, and leads with integrity. True leadership is not just about holding a position; it is about being trusted, accepted, and effective in guiding others towards shared goals.
These essential leadership principles, along with in-depth modules on leadership qualities and practices, form the foundation of the core courses at the Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute. Our goal is to produce seasoned leaders capable of securing and sustaining a prosperous future.
