AMBASSADOR DESKER

Ambassador Desker is a former Singaporean diplomat and corporate executive with extensive experience in international relations. He served as:

• Deputy Permanent Representative of Singapore to the UN (1982–1984)
• Ambassador to Indonesia (1986–1993), with concurrent accreditation to The Vatican and Spain

He has held various prestigious positions, including:

• Director, Cordell Hull Institute (Washington, D.C.)
• Honorary Adviser, UN Association of Singapore
• Co-Chair, Council on Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific (CSCAP) (2001–2003)
• Distinguished Fellow and former Dean, S. Rajaratnam Institute
• Board Member, International Chamber of Commerce (Paris) (2006–2008)

For his contributions, Ambassador Desker was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1992.
