PROFESSOR BAYO OLUKOSHI
Adebayo Olukoshi is a distinguished professor with over 37 years of experience in international relations, governance, and human rights. He earned his first degree in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and his doctorate in Politics from the University of Leeds, England.

He has held several key positions, including Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Senior Programme Staff at the Inter-Governmental South Centre, Executive Secretary of the Council for Social Science Research in Africa, and Director for Africa and West Asia at International IDEA. He also coordinated the Research Programme on the Political and Social Context of Structural Adjustment in Sub-Saharan Africa at the Nordic Africa Institute, Sweden, from 1994 to 2009.

Professor Olukoshi’s research focuses on the intersection of politics and economics in development, a field in which he has published extensively. He has been a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Johannesburg and Covenant University, holds an honorary professorship at the University of Edinburgh, and has honorary research and fellowship positions at the Nordic Africa Institute and the Centre for Democracy and Development.

A Fellow of the International Science Council, France, since 2022, he is also a member of the Standing Committee for Science Planning.
