PROF BENEDICT ORAMAH

Professor Benedict Oramah holds an MSc and PhD in Agricultural Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He began his career as an Assistant Manager (Research) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank before joining Afreximbank, Cairo, Egypt, as Chief Analyst in 1994.

Over the years, he has held key positions at Afreximbank, including:

• Senior Director of Planning and Business Development (2007–2008)
• Executive Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Banking (2008–2015)
• President of Afreximbank (since June 2015)

Beyond Afreximbank, he has served as:

• Chairman, International Factors Group
• Board Member, International Cocoa Organization
• Speaker  at various “African Trade and Finance” forums

A respected voice in trade finance, Professor Oramah has published numerous articles on African trade, finance, and economic development.
