PROFESSOR FUNMI OLONISAKIN

Professor Funmi Olonisakin is a Professor of Security, Leadership, and Development at King’s College London and the founding Director of the African Leadership Centre (ALC), dedicated to training the next generation of African scholars and analysts in conflict, security, and development.

She currently serves as Vice-President and Vice-Principal (International) at King’s College London and has held various prestigious roles, including:

• Research Associate, Department of Political Sciences, University of Pretoria
• Director, Conflict, Security and Development Group, King’s College London (2003–2013)
• Distinguished Fellow, Geneva Centre for Security Policy (April 2014)

She played a key role in establishing the National Commission for War-Affected Children in Sierra Leone and the Child Protection Unit within ECOWAS.
